Happy 30th Birthday Cardinal!
In May 2022, Cardinal has turned 30 years old! Here is a bit of a timeline.
In May, Cardinal turned 30. To celebrate, in November the entire Cardinal team went to celebrate with all family and friends invited to Rainbows end!
A brief history of how we got where we are today.
🔴 Cardinal began operating from Tony Gorton’s home office all the way back in 1992.
🔴 By 1993 we had our first operational warehouse, measuring a modest 700m2.
🔴 Fast forward four years and our warehouse portfolio had grown to three, covering both Auckland and Christchurch.
🔴 A decade later in 2007 we opened our Westney Road branch that still operates today, a 20,000m2 space. We expanded this space a year later by adding an extra 12,000m2.
🔴 Since 2012, Cardinal has accelerated, opening sites in Wiri (Nesdale Ave & Puhinui Road), an inland port in Mangere (Tidal Rd), East Tamaki (Smales Rd) and Christchurch (Waterloo Rd). And more planned for 2023 and 2024 in both Auckland and Christchurch.
It goes without saying that none of this would have been possible without our staff ambassadors, amazing clients and great suppliers, so we want to say a big thank you to everyone involved in our journey! Here’s to the next 30 years!

$93,707 raised at the Child Cancer Foundation Golf Day!
🏌️♂️ Driving for a Cause! ⛳ On 16th October, we were proud to host our annual Cardinal Child Cancer Foundation Golf Day at Whitford Park Golf, helping raise an incredible $93,707 to support children and families facing childhood cancer. This results in a running total for our support of this charity to up to $1,400,000!

Recognition at the Go for Gold Event!
We are incredibly proud to share a special moment from the recent Go For Gold event hosted by the Child Cancer Foundation. In recognition of a partnership spanning over 25 years and over $1,300,000 raised for Child Cancer Foundation, our Managing Director, Tony Gorton was honoured with the Distinguished Services Award, and Cardinal was also presented with the Impact Award for its services hosting the Annual Golf Tournament that now regularly raises over $100,000 each year.
